I have a cracked screen on an Acer Iconia B1-710 tablet and want to know if there is anyway I can export photos from it by connecting it to my PC.

The PC is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS.

I want to know this as I am thinking of getting it repaired but don't particularly want to reveal my password to the repairer.

Failing that is there anyway of connecting it to a monitor to access it.

I'd be grateful for any tips or advice on what is and what isn't possible.

Thanks.

If the tablet can still run you should be able to connect it to the PC with a USB  cable and access it as if it were a thumb drive. The HDMI out could also work if your model has that.

It turns on but doesn't "run" as such.

I was told by a repair centre that it needs the screen to be able to login to it, and that even he couldn't access the photo's unless it was rapaired 1st.

This is the answer I would expect from a repair centre as they would want my money, I just wanted to see if anyone here knew different.

I'm sure that if I go to the right place or contact the right person that I may get a result.

The joke is it was half price when I bought it but the quote so far is the same as the price I bought it for.

I did download some software that was supposed to be able to do the job, but when I ran it, it was searching for a phone and not a tablet, even though it claimed the software was for tablet/phone.

    Thanks billsey for your reply.

Yeah, if it's not actually able to boot it'll be more problematic. If it's booting but you just can't login then the USB to a PC is likely the best bet.

Remember that if you've been backing up to Google, you don't need to recover them since they will be restored to a new device.

    Thanks for answering.

Looks like it'll have to be a new screen then.

It doesn't boot it just turns on, but as the screen is cracked I can't see anything to put in password.
