Hello, I just purchased an e1-532 equipped with 2 RAM, 1 of 4gb and the other of 2gb, the problem is that the PC only detects 1 that 4GB (Dimm1 or 2) the only difference between the 2 RAMs is the voltage (1,35> 4go and 1,5> 2gb)

is it possible to modify a parameter so that both of them work? I have a BIOS change with the Advanced BIOS Setup menu

cordially

    Aureho68,

No option is available in the bios setup utility. The memory module of 2Gb is incompatible.

    Hi,

It's better if you get a 1.35v memory to match your 1.35v 4GB memory stick, I don't know how to adjust any settings in BIOS(if any) but wait for the response from more experienced members here.

    Hi Aureho68,

    The Aspire E1-532 series only supports DDR3L (1.35V) and not DDR3 (1.5V).

OK thanks for the answer ;-) is there any way in the advanced BIOS settings to lower the voltage or set it to 1.35? Or is the RAM completely incompatible? cordially

Hello, I have an Aspire E1-532 as well but I have only one memory slot. I have replaced my old 2GB memory module to a new 4GB module it is also DDR3L but windows says that only 2.4GB used. I just run out of ideas. System is windows 7 professional 32bit. I have tried the module in another 64bit notebook and all the 4GB is visible there. Under windows 7 32bit I expect 3,5Gb at least and not only 2.4Gb... Any idea? I have made bios update to version V2.12 but nothing happened... MSCONFIG -> Boot -> Advanced options settings also not helped. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sorry I have to correct a little bit. Before BIOS update: Installed memory (RAM) 4Gb (2.24 used). After BIOS update: Installed memory (RAM) 4Gb (2.4 used). So I get additional 0.16Gb to use :D In BIOS menu I can see the complete 4Gb, windows says 4Gb installed, why only 2.4 useable? I know integrated VGA should allocate some but surely not 1.6Gb :)

Another update, I realized in Resource Monitor that memory allocation looks as follows: 1642MB Hardware Reserved !!! 731MB In Use, 98 MB Modified, 636MB Standby, 985MB Free. So the problem is Hardware reserved too much. In my other laptop (also integrated VGA) Hardware reserved part is only 90MB ! Interesting...

    Last update :)
I have tried to install Windows 10 32bit, not helped. I have installed windows 7 64bit and now I can see all the 4Gb memory.
