I've had this laptop for a few weeks - W10 64 bit. I have had no luck burning cd's - data or audio. iTunes gives me an error code, Windows Media Player simply quits after a few seconds of an attempted burn, same result from an explorer window.
Where to go from here one wonders? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Try running sfc/scannow using this tutorial:https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2895-sfc-command-run-windows-10-a.html
If you don't mind using a third party utility, I can recommend Imgburn download from here:http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/imgburn.html
Thanks for the reply. I tried imgburn too - no cigar. I've just been out to buy better quality discs (Verbatim) - no joy either. I'll have a look at the link you provided - thanks.
Just to add - the drive plays cd's and dvd's fine.
Hi,
You could also try reinstalling the driver by right clicking in Device manager, reboot and let Windows install the driver, however, have a look for anything helpful here:https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/15660-burning-cd.html
