AL2017 Acer monitor won't stay on for more than 2 seconds

I have an AL2017 Acer LCD monitor.  When turned on, it will show the proper display for two seconds and then go blank.  It's almost as if something in the power supply is overloading and the power supply shuts down.  I can immediately power cycle the monitor and it will again show the display for 2 seconds and then blank out.

 

Any ideas?

    I tried the monitor is a darkened room tonight.  The problem is that the backlight is coming on for 2 seconds and then is going out.  When the backlight is not lit, you can still see the content on the screen so the rest of the monitor is working properly.

     

    Any idea why the backlight might be going out after being on only 2 seconds?

    I have the same problem with mine, and after putting a new power board in two years before a different problem (capacitors) I went to Youtube to get an answer. It was there, but for different manufacturer 19 inch monitor. There's a bad connection to the backlight lamps, maybe only one. Resolder them and they'll work again.
