ACER: Where is the fix for the touchpad issues?

Member Posts: 6 New User

Hi,

I just bought an ACER E5-771G-54N6 and after 2 days my touchpad just stop working (Win 8.1 , 64-bit). This is obviously a software (driver) issue, and after researching and finding out that a Windows reisntall is the only solution, I find that hard to believe that this can't be fixed through a patch.

So I'm hoping someone from Acer responds with a proper way of fixing this common issue. These type of problems shouldn't be occurring on brand new laptops.

Have you tried uninstalling, checking delete software, rebooting and installing?

Yes, did exactly as you said, and nothing, still doesn't work. I had to plug in a mouse to use this laptop.

I've also tried reinstalling the Intel IO drivers as others suggested, and nothing either.

Anyone else by any chance fix this issue??

I'm sure you've tried FN+F7. Acer has had some touchpads go bad and some people have returned their laptops while they have the option.

    No that didn't work.

I'm now on Windows 10, and this issue is still resolved. I've never received an updated driver. I'm very surprised to see that Acer hasn't mentioned any resolution about this issue.

ACER, WHERE IS THE FIX ???
