AG6-710 boot problems

I have an AG6-710 that is only a few months old.  It has receintly started to hang up on the boot screen (Predator logo and boot info in left bottom)  If I leave it alone it will complete boot in 5 to 8 minutes.  I am bvery dissapointed that I cannot contact Acer by email.  Am beginning to regret ordering another one of these for my grandson for Christmas.  If I can't get this problem resolved I will probably return the system without even opening the box.

HD tune free version will work.

about DVD, i mean to disconnect the cable but if you don't want to open your PC case, since it's under warranty, i perfectly understand.

about the external HDD, please disconnect it and try to boot.

I have downloaded and extracted the files.  Does the upgrade need to be done from within the bios menue?  Been a long thime since I upgraded a bios.

I returned from working outside (about 3 hours) and turned on the computer.  It took about 8 minutes for the boot, but I got a dos screen with info pertaining to the bios and computer system.  Had a checksum error, but I choose f1 and let the computer finish the boot.  I turned the system off and rebooted (normal this time) and went into bios setup and the new update was recognized by the system:

    R01-A4, 05/18/2016, Vers. 2.0

System boots normally at the moment.  I will give you an update in the morning after the computer has set overnight.  Thanks

please enter BIOS pressing Del key at boot and then press F9 and then F10.

this will load the default settings, this is needed after a BIOS flash.

Still have the problem of the 8 minute boot.  I am beginning to believe it is a hardware problem.  Maybe a bad bios chip or something on the motherboard that needs to reach a certain temperature before boot can be achieved.  Once I wait through the 8 minute initial boot, the system will boot normally as long as I do not let it cool to room temperature.   I have experienced similar problems years ago when I did a lot of work on computers.  Looks like a call to tech support is in order.  Problem is the Acer website will not recognize my SN or SNID, so I cannot register the system so I can't initialize web chat and I really do not like talking to a live person.  Your thoughts?

Have you checked your HDD health?
Try to boot without the DVD drive connected too.

I do not have a HD utility that will work with Win 10 or this new system, but I can see if I can download one.  This is a new system and the HD seems to be operating normally.  Do you mean for me to go into boot setup and disable the DVD and see if that helps?  I do have an external HD attached, but it has been on since day one and never caused a problem, but I will also disconnet that and see if that helps.  Every time I try something I have to wait until the system cools down to room temperature or boot will be normal.

Disconnected the external HD last night and this morning the system completed a normal boot from room temp.  I will do a cold boot throughout the day and see if that fixed the problem.

Ok, if it boots correctly, check on BIOS if in the Boot list there's any mention about USB devices and move to the latest position.

Booted perfect twice from cold system so far.  Looks like the usb external HD was the issue.  I'll give it time to cool and boot one more time then check system setup and see if there is a place for the external HD to exist peacefully with the rest of the system.  It's an old HD, so I really don't have to have it.  I'll give you a wrap up this evening.  Thanks.
