Well, let's go through what you've tried so far... I assume you've shut the system down (full shutdown, not just a sleep) and rebooted to see the same problem? Since the HD works I'm not leaning toward any power issues, Do any keys work? How about keys with the shift, ctrl, alt, Windows or Fn key pressed? If nothing then we're likely looking at a hardware problem in the keyboard. There is likely some circuitry in there that converts the key presses to USB signals that are transferred to the tablet through the connector. Since the HD and touchpad work, that connection is working, but we don't know about the circuit that translates key presses into USB packets. If that is bad and it's not just a loose connection a replacement keyboard is in order.
