Hi!

So i just got my Predator 17 G9-793-79WJ and i'm trying to make it boot from a usb drive but it won't work.

I set the usb stick into the usb 2.0 compatible port and enabled boot menu and disabled Secure boot(uefi enabled), but it can't find the usb drive. I tested the drive on another pc and it worked fine. It has only a 250 GB SSD if that helps somehow. Currently it has linux on it....the command line version.

Thanks!

you need to switch to Legacy or LaunchCSM or burn an UEFI compatbile Linux distro (normally x64 versions are UEFI compatible)

Hi!, Thanks for your response, but this was not the problem. It seems that i needed to format the Usb drive using a special format for uefi mode. It worked finallySmiley Very Happy

Hy Nyalotha, can you tell me how you did this ? I'm trying to install Win 10 on same laptop but I can't get to see the USB in boot list.

EDIT : nvm - found out what was the problem, UEFI USB Boot only works with x64 version of win 10

Hello guys, can anyone of you who bought the G793 tell me whether it has G-Sync integrated in its own monitor. I’m sorry but there is just too much contradictory information out there. Thank you
