HI guys,

I recently bought a new Acer predator x34A monitor for my new pc.

I have it connected with the HDMI cable that was sent along with it.

Everything seemed fine untill I wanted to test my Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 GPU by installing & playing a game, but when I got to the monitor interface, I noticed I wasn't able to access the overclock to 100Hz option (stays gray).

Thus I went to check the drivers for both my monitor and adapter... The latest drivers seem installed for both.

ADAPTER:

GTX 1080 -> UGLY Version 2.1 Build_223

While checking the different modi, the only option available @ 3440x1440 is 50Hz

MONITOR:

Acer X34(HDMI) -> 1.0.0.0 Version 10.0.10586.0 (th2_release.151029-1700)

And the Refreshrate I can select is only 50Hz

I tried to access overclocking while using the different modes the monitor has available, but to no avail.

While looking for different drivers on the acer website for the AP X34, only those for windows 7 and 8 can be found...

Anyone have any clue as to what it is I am missing?

  • Hello,

    I'm not 100% sure but:

    • HDMI V1.4:
      • 3840 x 2160 pixels at 24Hz, 25Hz and 30Hz
      • 4096 x 2160 pixels at 24Hz
    • DP V1.2:
      • 3840 x 2400 pixels at 60Hz

    So may be the refresh rate of 100Hz is only available via the DisplayPort.

    Yeah, seems like the problem lays in the HDMI port.

    Just tried the DP-cable and it's all working fine now.

    Thanks for the response Smiley Wink
