Alpha 12 Trackpad Sensitivity

The trackpad on my Alpha 12 is hyper sensitive and registers single mouse clicks while typing.   The trackpad itself "rattles" a little if I tap on the palm rests which may be registering as mouse clicks.

Anyone else have a problem with their trackpad or is mine just defective?  I just chatted with Acer support and they want me to send in the whole unit for testing which I'd rather not do because I use the machine regularly for work.

Not sure what to troubleshoot.  There are no adjusments in Windows for trackpad sensitivity.  I have loaded the latest keyboard firmare from the Acer support site.

I've tried tapping and doing some other weird stuff to try and recreate the problem consistenlty but no luck so far.

One thing I did notice is the trackpad "rattles" a lot as I am typing.  This makes me thing a spring or something tha keeps the trackpad raised is defecting and the vibration caused by me typing is being registerd as a single tap/mouse click.  The keybboard cover on my wife's Alpha does this too but not nearly as as mine does.

I really wish Acer would just exchagne the keyboard cover for me but they insist that I send in the whole machine which is a huge inconvenience.

You can try loading a different driver from our driver download site to see if that gives you the option to change the sensitivity. The Synaptics driver for Win 7 does have the option to adjust sensitivity, but I can not guarantee it will be compatible with your hardware.

If that does not work, you would probably have to send your Tablet to repair.

Thanks.  I will give the Synaptics driver a shot to see if anything changes.

Any success? If so, what drivers did you install?

Haven't done it yet but will download them today.   I honestly think my trackpad is just defective.  My wife has an Alpha as well and there is no problem typing on her keyboard.  I hate to send me whole unit in just for the cover but that seems to be what Acer wants me to do.
