Guys,

I just noticed - according to page: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows10-update - Predator laptops should NOT be updated to Anniversary Update! Which is hard to do when you do not own Windows 10 Pro version.

Is it really true? Or someone just forgot to update the table there?

Strange, I used Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant to get the Anniversary update, its been a week and going all well. Even the windows 10 home activation is intact.

So I have performed a clean install when the AU was released - prepared USB boot drive, cleaned disk and so on - and while in general it works OK, even better than before, I have certain issues - not to look far away:

I am not able to use PIN code as login. It is extremely annoying as I use Microsoft account, so my password is a bit longer than PIN, but I have to use it.

BTW - are you using PIN? It works for you?

I do not use PIN, but I have checked it for myself to confirm, it is working for me. And for the TPM I had to disable it as it constantly gave me BSOD as per advice of the community feedback, BSOD is no longer bothering me.

By working you mean my "test" i.e. TPM still there after restart?

In general I agree turning off is fine in most cases...

by they way thank you for your replies

I have the G9-591 and I still cannot get the AU which is extremely annoying I love the laptop but this makes it difficult to keep it especially since I am missing the features I need for work and gaming on windows 10 pro

OKkbut let's clear one thing out:

you are not getting AU in Windows Update?

    or

you are experiencing some issues with AU already installed?

Because in my case it was related to one functionality - PIN/TPM - which doesn't work on AU but worked nice before.

If you are missing AU as general it might be that something is wrong with your Windows Update. If you have time just reinstall windows. You will get AU by defaultSmiley Wink

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Go to here, download the tool. Then select language you want to use, Windows 10, 64-bit (unless for some reason you need 32bit). It will create a bootable USB drive. Than just reinstall windows.

If for some reason you dont want to start fresh there is also some update tool on that page. To be honest I have no clue about it as I never used it.
