Hi,

this is really silly Smiley Embarassed I'm trying to get the pictures off my Z630S but no idea how to do it. There's no SD card BTW... When connecting the Z630S to my PC (Win10) I can access it, however, via the pulldown menu option to get the images from device I get a zillion images, except the images from my camera. The DCIM directory is empty, so I'm really wondering how other people do this.

Yeah, I know I can email each and every image separately to my private e-mail account and then store it, but that sounds a bit devious to me.

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Luciën

when you connect your Z630S to your PC, do you unlock your device?

have you checked about any permission prompt on your smartphone?

can you please take a picture with camera application and then check under DCIM if any folder appears?

I did unlock my phone, otherwise it wasn't possible to see anything at all via the Windows Explorer. What I noticed was an empty DCIM dir although I'd already taken some a dozen pics or so. In the meanwhile I took a spare SD card an put that into my phone. Then I also got the idea from my son to use the phone's own file manager and to my big surprise that one did show the pictures.

I guess I can use the filemanager to move the pictures around (i.e. to my SD card), so that makes the issue less 'painful'.

You can set the microSD as the default storage for pictures, you will find the setting on camera application.

Thanks, did that and that works nicely. I connected my smartphone to the PC again, and this time it showed the pictures in the DCIM directory of the SD card. However, still no pictures shown in the DCIM dir of the internal storage. That's weird, isn't it.

I used the file manager to copy the 'old' photographs from internal storage to SD card, so everything is now ready to be transported.

Do you know that pictures are on DCIM/Camera folder?

I know, what I want to say is that the complete DCIM directory in internal storage is (well, looks) empty. No sub dirs, no pictures, nothing. Only the DCIM directory on the microSD card has subdirectories with the pictures.

I now recall (after having performed a factory reset) that somewhere along the line of setting up the phone I said "no" to abPhoto, granting it no access to my pictures. However, I wouldn't expect that to cause the invisibility of all content in the internal storage DCIM folder when accessing it with the Windows Explorer...

No abphoto will not block any USB transfer.
Have you tried connecting to another PC?
