A couple of months ago my monitor developed  an intermitent fault in that it wouldn't always start when i turned it on via the on/off button. The problem got worse and worse until eventualy the only way to start the monitor was by unplugging the transformer from the power lead, wait 3 seconds and plug it back in and if you were lucky it would start. During this time my monitor on/off button became dislodged as i frequently tried to turn it on. The button then pushed half way inside the case of the monitor but was still functional. I returned my monitor to ACER, explaining that it wouldn't turn on unless i unplug/plug in the transformer and now i have just recieved a phone call from them telling me that i need to pay £92 to get the power button repaired other wise they will send it back unrepaired. I explained to the woman who called me that the power button would not have broken if i didn't have to repeatedly firmly press it several times each time i wanted to use it. She wouldn't take this into consideration though and insisted that i pay the money or have it returned unrepaired. I guess the moral of the story is as soon as something doesn't function 100% as it should, send it back immediately and don't try to persevere with it as i did.

I must say im rather disapointed with the issues i`ve had with my 9 month old monitor and after dealing with there aftersales care i won't be buying from them again.

I have a similar problem with my S277HK monitor. The switch has got harder and harder to activate and now needs considerable pressure to switch it on. It's, effectively, no longer usable. This is clearly a design fault.
