XR341CK backlight goes on, OSD not showing, inputs not working

Hi,

My XR341CK suddenly stopped working. The backlight does go on when it's plugged in, but none of the buttons under the display bring up the OSD, and plugging in a display does not result in the screen showing anything (though my laptop does react as if another display was plugged in; it simply doesn't show up on the display, however).

Here is a video of it exhibiting this behavior: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lrj88p0l85fag2f/2016-09-12%2013.11.02.mp4.webm?dl=0

Has anyone seen anything like this before, and if so, does anyone know if there's a quick fix, or if the unit simply needs repair? If so, what are my options for getting it repaired, given that it's out of its warranty period?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, original poster. How long have you had the monitor before it started exhibiting this? Curious, as I just purchased this same monitor. I already experienced a problem with it :-/

Started 172 days after purchase. These are defects; it's not likely for something like this to happen regardless of who you buy from.

With that said, Acer has been handling this pretty poorly so far. Mine is a Recertified monitor. Their main support channel refused to help and redirected me to their Recertified support channel, who said that they would not repair my monitor even if I paid (which I was happy to do, as it's past its 90 day warranty) and did not have a list of authorized repair shops I could take it to. So now I'm stuck going on forums, begging for help to fix a monitor I paid $600 for less than 6 months ago.

That REALLY blows, kevin. I guess that settles it, I'm going to have to return mine. I feel bad for you, though. Not to mention how bad I feel for Acer, seems like this is really bad on their reputation. I just bought mine an hour ago, and have already encountered 2 significant problems. The first, the screen randomly shuts off. The second, a loud buzzing sound when I go below 36 on brightness. I have the XR341CK model.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend you return yours. Mine actually had the same issues as well. The screen randomly shut off at times, and there was a whining/buzzing sound for me depending on the monitor's settings. These monitors are plagued with issues, and it's Acer, so you can't expect them to care once something goes wrong.

    Hi quanological,

Can you please inform where did you buy the monitor?

If you would like you can send me a PM with your serial number.

If the monitor is recertified, unfortunately you would have to contact them for support or possible repair.

Please PM more information so I can check further.

    Hi kevinmost,

You mention before that the monitor is from a recertified, in that case, I suggest you try to contact them again as it is out of our reach to help you with your issue.

Let me know if you need any information on that and I will be glad to assist you.
