Hi, I have this device for a  aouple of weeks and have met several issues.

Build number Acer_AV0L0_T03_1.005.00_PA_CA

Image Version Acer_AV0L0_T03_RV01RC05_PA_CA

  1. Battery issue - saw the respective thread regarding Amazon app - have the same issue with uninstallig.
  2. Sometimes it cannot download apps from the Google Play and it has to be rebooted.
  3. Cannot move installed apps to SD
  4. the main problem - this device has 16Gb of phone memmory and after the start it has around 10Gb free. I cannot understnad how but after a week of usage I do not have any free space. I did not install apps, games did not liste to the music and I did not watch videos - just some phone calls, several chats a couple of photos that's it. And it took 10Gb?

    Please help.

    I have a similar problem with the internal storage (16GB device).  Using the Apps DiskUsage is showing a block called System Data that is growing over 5GB, eventually taking all the internal storage.  I had 3GB free yesterday, today only 2.1GB free. I have cleared all cache, including "wipe disk cache".  I have less than 1GB of application installed. This is serious internal storage issues...

    Also, the Amazon apps can't be removed, well, it can, but it keep on coming back.  The Amazon apps is not working and continually crashing when started.

    I have fix the battery draining issue by not using the "smart push" for email.

    The main culprit is the Amzon package issue.

    From what I can see, each time the Amzon package is re-installed, it create a folder in /data/app named "com.amazon.mShop.android-" appended with an incrementing number:

    43M     com.amazon.mShop.android-41
    43M com.amazon.mShop.android-42
    43M com.amazon.mShop.android-43
    43M com.amazon.mShop.android-44

    Each of these folders is 43 MB in size, so it's slowly eating up the storage space.

    Likely every PA_CA version of the device are affected, so until they fix the issue, which from what I read from multiple forums, is likely to take a long time or will never be done, we are stuck with brand new semi working phone.

    I have spent some time today trying to explain the issue in a support chat. After we have tried everything one more time I have got this reply.

    we have tried already all the troubleshooting steps there are available on my hand. What you are required to do know is, since the issue that you are having is with a 3rd party app and operating system and we do not provide support for that but I understand that you say that the app comes install from factory what I need you to do is to contact our level 2 support, tomorrow, since they are closed now, from 9:00am - 6:00pm EST so they can provide you with the solution. I can not set the unit for repair since like I said is 3rd party application. Call Acer technical support 1-800-816-2237 and ask for level 2 support.

    I'll be busy tomorrow but will call there this week indeed. Let's call them and highlight this issue to push it. It is really stupid that they did not fixed it yet.

    I came across this debloater software and I have giving it a shot.  I'm not sure it worked because the Amazon icon is still there.  I did a full user backup prior.  I'll watch the storage for a few days.

    @Tinos

    I will try to tell them the package is in "/system/etc/oem", but I don't have high hope.

    D/AppManagerInstall( 1275): com.amazon.mshop.android: Prepare installed....
    I/PackageManager( 696): init_copy idx=0: InstallParams{281719cd file=/system/etc/oem/AmazonMobileShop_US.apk cid=null}
    I/PackageManager( 696): startCopy UserHandle{0}: InstallParams{281719cd file=/system/etc/oem/AmazonMobileShop_US.apk cid=null}

    Be aware that talking about rooting is against the community rules.

    Acer is already aware of this issue and i hope they will fix it in a short time.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    I literally have all the same problems with my v630. I actually took my phone back to the store and got another one and it too had the same exact issues. The amazon app problems is baked right into the firmware I believe and most likely there is a large batch of these phones on store shelves everywhere. Very disappoint with this. it seems like a descent phone on paper. I hope your level 2 escalation call will come up with and answer and If so please share with us what the solution was. Until then we will have to live with phone" syndrone.

    same issue for me. Im now on my 3rd reset of the device. upon completion of the reset, it says i have around 10GB free space. then i slowly see this go down on its own. i wake up the next morning and i have 0 space and cannot do anything with the phone. this is quite frustrating. even the storage report screen in settings just says 'calculating' for all line items. thank goodness i bought this thing from Costco, ill be taking it back now that i know the issue with with the phone and not me.

    I had the same issue and returned the phone to Costco. Like usual no questions asked. I bought a new one to see it it would work and I was surprise to see that the problem is fixed on the new one.

    The mfg date on my new phone is Jan 2016. Hope it helps.

    This happened several times in the two months since I bought the phone:  Phone storage mysteriously shrank by several GB.  Bootup time jumped from 35 seconds to minutes.  Each time I was able to do a factory reset to restore phone storage and bootup time.

    I didn't know how it happened, until one day I clicked "Update All" on 20 Play Store app updates.  I watched the free phone storage reduced from 9.5 GB to 3 GB, and bootup time changed from 35 seconds to 2 minutes and half.

    I have now stopped the Play Store auto update, waiting for a fix from Acer.

    I successfully uninstall the persistent amazon app using the <Acer Aid Kit> app, which might be put there by the March system update.  The amazon app hasn't come back.

    Thanks for the information, Tinos.

    Under <Build number> Acer_AV0L0_T03_1.007.00_PA_CA., I updated 8 apps from Play Store.  Phone storage loss was just 0.5. GB, which may well be within the limits of normal system operation.  Boot time remains 32 to 35 seconds.
