Problem adjusting white/black balance with similar Acer monitors

Hey guys!

A few months ago, Newegg had a great sale on the Acer K242HL bbid monitors, so I picked up two for $80 each. Robot LOL
Now I had a problem; I had to buy another one when I could, to match the other two. My TV (in the middle) was failing. I picked up another one this last month, thinking it was the same one. A few weeks after setting it up, I realized I'd gotten a K242HQL. It's .4" different, and the contrast is 300 cd/m2, versus the 250 cd/m2 on the other two.

I'm having a horrible time trying to get the contrast and colors right bewteen the two models. The black level on the HQL is rather bad, and I can't really get a true black where I can on my HLs... I can match the colors pretty well and they look great, until darker colors come into play.

Any suggestions on settings I can work with, to get a deeper black level, or is there a known issue with the HQL...?

Thanks guys!

Nearly 5k replies, no help, and Acer support won't let me return it.

    Thanks for nothing.
