Are S240HL and H236HL monitors only supported as generic PnP monitors in win10?

I have problems using HDMI with S232HL on win10 (on-board Intel HD530 graphics).  There doesn't seem to be a win10 driver.  The display is too big for the screen and cannot be adjusted by eDisplay.  I use 2 monitor IDs and switched relative to Intel Graphics properties.

    Hello All,

I see you have an issue with monitor compatibility issue after upgrading to Windows 10. The monitor is S232HL. According to your post you’re using a gender adapter [HDMI-DVI] so, let’s do DVI only.  Your video card is an INTEL HD530.  Have you tried Intel download center to update your drivers after upgrading to Windows 10.

Yes I have searched for drivers everywhere, Intel, Acer and ASUS (the board is H170-Pro).  The monitor does not work via the HDMI port.  Rather than buying another monitor, I am connecting monitor DVI to computer DVI for the S232HL.  My other monitor has only DVI so I am using the adapter from the computer's HDMI port.

The bottom line is that the Acer does not work with HDMI....could this be because the latest driver is May 2010?

    Hello Sintie,

Have you been to the Intel website and download the newest driver for Windows 10.  Try the link listed below:

I have tried that driver already.  I have also tried one suggested by ASUS:

Not sure what you mean by "same problem".  My video was not distorted, only wrong size for screen.  Also, it appears my problem was only with HDMI.  My workaround was to use a DVI adapter.

You should provide some more details on your issue.

Mine is also too large for my screen and the text looks "fuzzy" not clear . Pictures look elongated don't know how else to explain

    Which monitor:

    Which motherboard/video card?

    Which port (HDMI or DVI)?

Did you go to the motherboard website for drivers?

    Anything else about your system........

XP drivers won't work on windows 10.

windows 10 doesn't need monitor drivers until EDID is sent by monitor, if EDID is missing or wrong drivers are needed.

What happens if win10 does not work and there is no driver....as in my case with hdmi?

check if your graphic card permits custom resolutions by the way, please be aware that some Intel graphic drivers has some issues on setting different resolutions between monitors (can be hardware limitation or old drivers limitation)
