Can install new linux os

I just got a new Acer TravelMate B that came with Linpus Linux. The OS fails to boot and I didnt think it a big deal because I wanted to install a different linux distro anyway.
However I am running into an issue I hope someone can help me with.

So I first started with using universal usb installer to add my linux iso to a external hard drive and enabled f12 boot. Travelmate fails to see the usb so I checked the bios and moved all hdd options in boot list to the top and still not showing up.
Tried again with a cruzer 8GB flash drive and still won't see it. So right now I have a dead travelmate that just needs an os.

Any ideas for how to install a new linux os at this point?

Now tried via SD card and no success. Decided to try to do a pxe network install and boot via network doesnt show up either after enableing network boot.
