Predator G6-710 & Oculus Rift

Anyone had success installing an Oculus Rift VR setup?  I keep running into hardware errors during setup and cannot get past installation. "Ocular has detected a hardware error that is preventing you from setting up your Rift."

I have a strong suspicion it's USB 3.0 port related.    When I plug in, the HDMI interface and 2 USB 3.0 ports are discovered and activated, yet when I go to do setup inside the headset, I get that error. I've tried the two USB 3.0 ports on the front and ports on the back with no success. Same Error. I even rebooted and Windows came up and reported to "Hang On" while it cleans up from a hardware error and then rebooted fine.

Anyone installed one yet?  Let me know your trick.

Thanks

Yup. USB port issue.  The two front and some on the back don't work with Oculus. I found one USB 3.0 on the back that seems to work reliably. Holy ***** this thing is amazing....

Not USB Ports.  Problem was the Rift.

Apparently Oculus shipped defective units which had thermal issues. When the headset would heatup after use, the HDMI cable attached to the headset would lose it's connection and disconnect.  Oculus support is aware of the problem and are swapping out defective products.
