Acer Liquid Zest 4G

I try to add an mp3 ringtone to one of my contacts. I have put the mp3 in the directory Ringtones on the phone and on the SD card. When I open the contactinfo for this person, I tap the pencil, than I tap the three dots in the right upper corner but all I see than is 'merge' 'do not save changes' 'delete' and 'all calls to voicemail'. No option for setting the ringtone. It does not make any difference if I put the contact on the phone or on the simcard or via my Google account. Does anybody know how to do this?

    as far as i know, this is not available as an option.

    That would be a pity. Maybe Acer should adjust their manual then.

     

    It states on page 21:

    "Tapping on the contacts name will bring up their profile. Tap while
    viewing a contact’s profile to delete, share, or create a shortcut on the
    Home screen for the contact. Tap to edit the contact’s details; tap
    again for more options, where you may set a ringtone for the
    contact, send all incoming calls to voicemail, or add a contact picture.
    You may also create a contact from an already dialed or received
    number, see Saving a dialed number to contacts on page 26"

     

    But if this is not possible, no use to try out the instructions then..

    I have a Zest Plus, i will give a look at the manual too and highlight the issue.

    It's the same on the Zest Plus manual, i'm reporting it.

    I guess there will be no solution... still not possible and maybe not important enough for Acer to adjust this in an update. Tooo bad....

    Not your fault! You did what you could, it's up to Acer to change, and preferably the phone updates, not the manual. Thanks anyway!

    No solution, that's not acceptable. I have 6 acer products and Acer must have á solution for this.

    Hey, I have found an App. Really good. Ringtone Maker from MeiHillMan. It does what Acer Zest Plus doesn't do. Very simple to use. Adds ringtones to your contacts and more. Try it
