Hi everyone, I am Lawmom and I have an eMachines ET1831-07 that has Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1. When the Windows 10 upgrade became available it said my computer was compatible for the upgrade, however, it is now saying that it is not because my NVIDIA GeForce 7050/NVIDIA nForce 620i is not compatible and that the manufacturer has not made my monitor compatible with Windows 10. I am wondering if Acer is going to make the compatibility change for eMachines, or if they have, where do I find the driver update? I went straight to NVIDIA and updated what it allowed me to, but when I tried updating the driver that Windows Update gave me to install, it would not install it. Please Help!! Thank you!!

    Hi Lawmom,

Unfortunately, there are no planned updates for the ET1831. Microsoft has done a lot to include as much compatibility with Windows 10 as possible, but not everything is/was qualified and it's not just drivers that would be needed to be updated to allow for the update. Acer is not saying you can't upgrade, but we had to commit to what we could support. If Windows 10 isn't saying it's qualified/compatible it may be a less than optimal experience if you attempted to perform the update.

    Greetings Cory,

Thank you for your reply, it is very much appreciated! I wasn't absolutely sure if I wasnt to change over to Windows 10 anyway since there were quite a few issues with Windows 8 when it came out. Maybe it is a sign for me to leave well enough alone. Thank you, again!!

    Respectfully,

    Hi tinker448

I sorry to inform you the problem is not a driver but you must get a new video card for your p.c to make it compatible with windows 10 .

The video card is not compatible with windows 10, I had the same problem as I have the same machine and have since changed the video card and now states it is compatible with windows 10

check if acer also supports the machine for windows 10 as many have updated to windows 10 and find out it wasn't really compatible and there pc has had problems later.

backup your pc with an external hard drive just in case

find out how to on youtube

still trying to check that out with acer
