I haven't seen anyone talking about this new tablet so i want to make a topic of this too. About a week ago i sold my 5 months old Acer Iconia Tab 10 B3-A20 (white) because i wanted to upgrade it to this newly released A3-A40 that is pretty much better in all aspects than B3-A20. Screen resolution is now 1920*1200 with the same beautiful IPS screen that B3-A20 model had and RAM has now been increased to 2GB. Internal flash storage is now 32GB compared to 16 on B3-A20 white model. Also this new tablet comes with nice black color (backpanel is textured matte black) with little bit of bronze/gold color on speakers, Acer logos on front and back and on main camera/micro SD&Micro HDMI slot. Overall, this tablet looks premium and beautiful! It uses the same Mediatek 8163 64-bit chipset but it's now overclocked to 1.5 GHz compared to 1.3 GHz on B3-A20. It's quadcore CPU and GPU is the same Mali-T720MP2. But the best thing in this new tablet is definitely, in my opinion, audio improvements. It uses now Acer Quadio (4 front facing speakers and same technology that was in Acer's Predator tablet) with Dolby DTS-HD and it has a quick button called "mediamaster" that switches between normal mode, music mode&picture mode (more vivid colors) and movie mode. Marshmallow 6.0 is now present out of the box and i hope this tablet gets Android N update in the future
Battery capacity is the same 6100 mAh which means many hours of Netflix, Youtube, browsing, music and gaming on one charge. But B3-A20 had a little better battery life because it had only 1280*800 screen resolution so it's fairly acceptable that this new FHD screen uses more battery. Still, battery life is really good, in my opinion. Speaking of availability, i think this tablet is only available in Europe at this moment (i live in Finland) so maybe that's why i haven't seen discussion about this tablet yet on this forum. I hope this tablet reaches other regions as well, so many more users can buy this awesome tablet. Acer has really nailed it here, nice job!
