Acer One S1002 Unable to connect to Wifi

I just bought an Acer One S1002 (windows 8.1) last night and connected it to the wifi at home. Not a problem. I take it out and head downtown, and select the wifi I want to connect to, and the Wifi connection status sticks on "Checking network requirements" before saying it can't connect to the network. I don't even get to the point of being asked what the password for the network is before the connection fails.

I can't call the @#$&*(%^@#&*(%^*(!&$^ Acer customer support because they print the )@*(#&%^@#&*$% serial information so @#$*(&%^@#$*(&%^ small.

I tried the Windows help pages, and they say it's the router, and that I need to get them to fix a problem with the router. My iPhone, iPad, and Nextbook 2 can all connect both at home and at work WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

Anyone have ideas on how to fix the Acer One wifi to connect?

I use my phone to take a picture, then blow the picture up to read the tiny letters usually. Smiley Happy

I assume you've already forced the tablet to forget the network, rebooted and then retried connecting? Sometimes it's tough to get them to really forget a badly entered password.

I can't even GET to the point where it asks the pass code. It cycles to "Checking network requirements" and then after a minute or two it stops and says it can't connect.

The phone-picture trick worked. I got in to talk to customer support. The fix was simple, really - uninstall the drivers and let windows re-install them from backups.

    Thank you for your help!
