New U.S. W700p-6821

I just received my W700P-6821 today from CostCentral.com.  The box contained: the tablet; the integrated cover/keyboard; the multi-position cradle; the micro-HDMI-to-VGA adapter; and a capacitive stylus.  I was a bit surprised to find the integrated cover/keyboard in place of the separate case and standalone Bluetooth keyboard -- I think, all things considered, that I might have preferred the latter, if given a choice, but we'll see how it goes.

Notice that I did not mention recorery DVDs.  Several reviewers had remarked favorably about having those, so I'm a bit disappointed that apparently Acer has decided to drop them from the packaging.

Another thing I noticed was that there's very little bloatware -- no McAfee virus protection, for example -- that has been mentioned in the past.  In fact, pretty much the only things I could find apart from the Acer update utilities and such were Evernote and the trial MS Office package.  Live Updater didn't find anything, either, so I guess this is a very up-to-date version that is currently shipping.

Oh, and another thing I noticed that's different from the reviews: just like the Surface Pro, the default is set up to display items at 150%; I believe the earlier version had the default set at 100%.

for drivers you can actually download them all from the website, so the lack of recovery dvds is not that serious at all

I took a look in the partition manager, and it turns out that there's a recovery partition of 9.24 GB, leaving the primary partition with only 109.39 GB.
