I don't know of an A1-801 model. Do you mean the -810 or -811 maybe?

OK, there is a current build of the OS for the 810 on the Acer support site. Choose your model (A1-810) in drivers and updates, then go to the OS tab. Pick the version that matches your tablet and you can use the recovery procedure to load it as a replacement for what's there now.

Ok i have anopther question. For some reason the update is aborted. It says "assert dailed: getprop("ro.update.name") == "a1-810_ww_egn1" installation aborted."

At the top it says with red characters "Android system recovery <3e>

    Acer_avok0_a1-810_1.029.00_ww_gen1

I guess that i means that the os file is not for the correct tablet version.  I did the unzip and used the update.zip

Is there a way to tell me what is the correct file?  Thank you again

Where did you buy it? We might be able to puzzle it out from that.

I bought it from a shop in Greece

OK, I'm not sure, but I think Greece would be in the EMEA version, that stands (I think) for Europe, Middle East & Africa. Try that instead of the WW version.

You are correct that Greece is at the EMEA.  There is only one OS image available for EMEA.  It is the last one and it is EMEA_FR  I wonder if they forget OS for EMEA.  Anyway i tried all the available OS and nothing changed.  I wonder where is the problem.  Is it that i can't find the correct OS?  Why do the need to make so make so many OS and not just one?  Even if the had to do it it should be easier to find the correct OS.  Thank you

Each image that is available there is targeted at a different market. Sometimes it's just the default languages and sometimes the software bundle as well that is different than the other versions. I'm afraid you'll have to contact Acer support to find out which version is correct for your machine since there's not any way to tell without booting it into the OS...
