My Iconia A1-830 TAB overheats and shuts down

I recently got an Iconia A1-830 Tab as a gift. But it has a problem. It overheats and shuts off. Apps like Ditty, Periscope and YouTube just shuts the Tablet down. I can feel the back of the tablet getting really hot, prior to the shutdowns, but I can do nothing to prevent them. I know these tablets are Intel based (Atom cpu's), so can I change the thermal material (compound), or heat diffuser on my own? The tablet is out of warranty, and the $109.99 needed to send it in is more than the tablet is worth. (I've seen them as cheap as $30 on Amazon). This was a gift, and I would like to fix this myself or find a solution. In addition, can I  revert back to Jellybean. I downloaded the Jellybean app guide from Acer, which looks like the OS.

Ok, so I got desparate, and decided to do the ole XBOX 360 Red Ring of death solution to my problem. Since the tablet is out of warranty, I decided to open her up and see if I could address the over heating issue myself. I placed some coins over the CPU heat diffusion foil to absorb the access heat. I then tried to push the thing as much as possible. Rany Ditty, YouTube and Periscope, without a shutdown. I did install the Cooler Master CPU cool down app, but all that does is really show the CPU temps. Prior to my fix, the CPU ran about 109-111 degrees F, before shutting down under load. Now the hottest it gets is about 103 degress F. Maybe it's fixed? I will not know, since further testing is needed.
