I tried to duplicate what you are experiencing on the device, but have been able to successfully copy files to the SD card with no problems. How are you attempting to move the files? All I did was go into Astro file manager, locate a file on my tablet, and tap and hold on the file and select copy. Then, I went to the SD card in Astro, located the directory I wanted to copy to, and clicked paste. Can you try that and see if it works? If not, my best suggestion would be to try a different SD card.

Are you getting an error when you try to transfer the files? Does the tablet recognize the SD card? What file explorer program are you using to transfer files?

Yes, error "Android 4.4 does not alloe 3rd party etc to make modifications etc to external SD cards."
I am using "File Mgr" that came with my Acer tab. I have installed other FM apps that also do not allow simple tct files and pix to be placed on SD card. Tablet recognizes the same SD card.

It's a shame that one buys a first-class SD card only to find it does not work, allowing user to increase a tablet's meager storage capacity...the listing of which is part of the product's sales pitch.

What is the exact model product you have? If you do not have the model number, send me a private message with the serial number. I am going to look into this a little more.

Click on my user name, then there should be a link on the right that says "Send this user a private message". If you still can't do it, just post your SNID in a reply, and I can edit it out.0

Astro works just fine..I was using File Mgr on Acer tablet & getting the Android "cannot alter " message.
Astro copies to add-on SD drive without the Android no-no.
(For some reason, Astro knows the secret password! )
Thanks & Kudos Acer-Blayn!
