Hi! Good day everyone.

Who has the same laptop as mine (Acer One 10 S1001)?

or anybody who knows how to fix the error "your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart"?

i have tried entering safe mode, unfortunately, i wasnt able to enter safe mode.

i believe the possbile keys are F8, shift+F10 / alt+F10.

also, ive seen people having the same error, they fixed it by windows auto repairing, i do not know how to do this.

so my last resort is, to repair it using my bootable USB.

but this is the most tiring problem ive been facing for already a week.

whatever i do, my bootable usb cannot be detected. my bios info is aptio setup utility - copyright (c) 2014 american megatrends inc, in the bios option,

there is only one boot priority option which is the [windows boot manager].

some says disable the "secure boot", ive done so, saved it, restart, but there is no other option added.

on the top right side, it says;

1. System running in User Mode with enrolled Platform key (Pk)

2. CSM function is disabled.

some people experienced the same problem, but unlike mine, after the disabled the secure boot, they got additional options, and was able to enable the CSM function, which they say, will lead you to adding new boot devices.

and btw, these are the options i only got in bios,

the bios setup options are very limited.
like in the
"MAIN" tab
-you can only edit the system date and time

"ADVANCE" tab
-CPU config
-ppm config

"BOOT" tab
-boot option #1
-secure boot menu
>secure boot enable/disable
>secure boot mode standard/custom

"save and exit"

please if you happen to know the issues, please help me.

thank you!

Sorry you are having problems. What kind of bootable USB drive are you using? Is it one you made using Acer Recovery management, one you ordered from us, or is it one you made via some other method?

by the way, i was able to make my USB detectable.

    but WHY?!

after entering bios setup, changing boot priorities to 1st boot option = USB, and 2nd boot option = windows boot manager,

    save changes, and exit.

after the restart, it still went to blue screen with the same error "your pc ran into problems"  after the acer logo.

    nothings changed.

    is this a hardware defect?

My suspicion is that this will be a hardare issue that may require repair. If you power the system down completely, and try pressing Alt + F10 when you see the Acer logo when it is first powering on, are you able to get into recovery? If not, I suggest contacting technical support in your region to inquire about repair.

first of all, i would like to thank you Blayn for responding my thread.

ive tried alt+F10 already. and it ddnt work.

    omg............

by the way, is there a particular OS installer for UEFI computers?

i mean, i believe my acer one 10 has UEFI firmware.

and i was thinking that the reason why my bootable USB either win 7/8 in it is not working because my installer is not for UEFI???

    Hi Everyone,

I've got the same issue as darex,

I had faced this issue for the last 2 week,

I had set my bootable usb with UEFI system with GPT, and it's didn't work either,

the problem still same, once I got an acer logo and press F2, I'll face with bios option,

and for boot option, there's still no boot option for usb,

and the worst is I try to press ALT + F10 to get recovery option, and it didn't work either,

I had try to change my usb with microsd and again!, it didn't work..

    what should I do then?

it's there an issue for a hardware or something wrong with the boot option on my bios,

    please help me,

    Thank you

    Best

    Indri

Your bootable USB needs to be formatted FAT32, not NTFS. Any chance that's the problem?

Hi I also have similar problem, after I tried to reset the windows system and click continue to windows after the reset process, all I can see is black screen. I tried to install another OS, but acer one 10 will not detect my bootable usb. Anyone, help..please!

You need to be installing the same version of the OS, I think yours is the 32bit version.

When you did your install did you have it wipe everything from the drive to start clean or did you try to keep the partitions?
