Acer w510 with only guest account.

Acer w510 with keyboard attachment.  Admin account was disable.  I try enabling admin, safe mode or reload factory settings (alt+f10).  Nothing seems to work.  Acer Recovery management doesn't seem to work while login as guest.

I also enable boot and press F12.  The only option available is Windows Boot manager.  I have a bootable USB (Hiren/Ubunti) and USB DVD (bootable) but the system can not detect it.  UEFI compliant devices but only getting Windows Boot Manager.

They may be UEFI compliant but are they signed and 32 bit ?

May not help here but the first thing I do with a new machine is to create a second admin account just in case.

Worst case you might download the Windows 8 90 day eval from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj554510.aspx and try that.

Try send back to Acer to reinstall Acer OS if you couldn't recovery your OS.

The was the issued.  Not signed.  I can create Windows 8 UEFI bootable but not Hiren or others

My understanding is that to boot an unsigned OS you must do the following in order (and maybe reboot after each):

    1) go into BIOS and set a BIOS password

    2) go into security and erase the signature store

    3) disable safe boot

Note: (2) cannot be done unless safe boot is enabled.

    Then anything should boot.

Please let me know if this works, I have not needed it.
