Help!! G-sync not working in Predator X34

Thanks in advance for any help. I have the Predator X34 and I can't seem to get G-sync working. I have gone through the total Nvidia control panel including disabling and then enabling G-sync in Nvidia control panel about a dozen times now. I've tried every picture mode within the monitor menu -- game mode on/off, overdrive on/off, etc. I tried resetting my monitor. I know that G-sync isn't working because the MNT indicator never goes red  and I can clearly see screen tears all over the place when gaming. It USED to work for me occasionally during the 2 weeks that I've had the monitor. I can't say for sure, but I think the G-sync just disables itself somehow regardless of anything I do. I had it working the other day... and then I simply opened up a different steam game and then instantly it decided to not work. Acer tech support for this monitor is LITERALLY non-existent. Even their third-party support told me they don't deal with monitors.

I also noticed that I can't get the monitor's built in refresh rate indicator to work. In every picture mode/setting the indicator seems to consist of a grey box with no numbers in it. The wierd thing is the yellow refresh rate numbers DO come on for about half a second when I first load games or programs.

    Hi Hugh,

First thing to try is a clean install of the nvidia drivers, it seems to be the solution for this issue, both gsync and grey box
