W510 will not charge

I have replaced the power cable but the tablet will not charge... No LED light saying it's charging, will not boot with recovery keys or holding the power button for 30 second... Any ideas? I have opened it up and made sure the battery cable was seated well, but still no luck.

I can't remember, is the power connection on a 510 soldered directly on the motherboard, or is it on a little daughter card that's cabled over to the motherboard? It sounds like there might be a problem between the power plug/socket connection and the motherboard power/charging circuit.

it is a seperate board connected via ribbon to the motherboard... I should crack it open again and take a picture and upload it... actually, thats a good idea.  Here is the pic...IMG_20160414_171604.jpg

AHhhhh!!!!!! That did it... just taking it apart and taking pictures of it... maybe pressing it hard enought back together fixed it!  Anyways, thanks!

Since that worked you might want to look into pulling it back apart, making sure both ends of the cable are fully seated and adding a bit of tape to help keep it in place. Make sure you use a tape that doesn't leave too much of a residue over time/heat. I'm guessing normal yellow masking tape would not be a good choice, it not only leaves the adhesive behnid but hardens up over time. Smiley Happy
