S240 HL monitor reverting to standby and no signal on connection to laptop

I have been plugging the HDMI cable into my laptop and usung my monitor quite happily for 4 months, then this morning the monitor switched itself on, picked up the bootup screen on my laptop for about 2 seconds then went onto "no signal" stand-by mode (orange light).

My Lenovo Yoga 500, windows 10 laptop is recognising the monitor as a device however it won't duplicate my screen. I have checked that the drivers are up to date - they are.

I have powered off and back on again - nothing

Tried another HDMI cable - says theres no cable attached

Laptop works fine on another monitor.

Short of parcelling it up and sending it back, is there anything I have missed. I don't want to look like the Village ***** at PC World!

Thanks

If possible use one of the other connections to see if you get a display at all. If available, get into the OSD and reset or set to default might help. I don't know that there is much more you can do. Testing the pc with another monitor was your best troubleshooting step.

    Thanks Cory,

The Gremlins seem to have been thwarted, possibly by the Good Fairy of The Monitor, and it is working perfectly again. That's the only explanaition I can come up with, as nothing logical seemed to work!

    An enigma...
