Hello, I am looking to buy this monitor but had read back in Nov/ Dec there was a recall. Have they corrected those issues with the monitor and do they work properly now?

Thank you

What is the purpose of these forums if nobody responds, or anyone from Acer?

This is a peer to peer support forum. Acer does not monitor it in order to answer technical questions although occasionally an admin from Acer may drop in.  It is primarily up to your fellow Acer owners who have some knowledge of your product or problem, to respond.

OK, so has anyone purchased this monitor post recall? Is it working properly now? Or do these old issues still persist?

I got mine today and OCed to 100 HZ and have no problems. Minor backlight bleed but corrected that by reducing factory brightness setting slightly.

Thank you for responding. I would be looking to buy this from an MMORPG typeofgamer.

DC universe online, Elder scrollsonline, Guild wars2, The old republic, Skyforge etc etc.

Can you comment on anygaming experiences with the monitor your having? Good or bad?

I received my monitor and everything seems to be good.

Is there any program I can use to help adjust the settings? The color looks off, brightness, etc. Thank you

I am looking at the TFT Central review, in the calibration section it says to adjust the Luminance, black point and contrast ration, however I do not see these options in my OSD? Can anyone advise how to find them?

    Hi Rebel230,

You will get a more acceptable colour/contrast/etc balance using the TFTCentral ICC profile.

    1. Go here: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm
    2. Find "Acer Predator X34" in the list and click it to download the .icc profile file
    3. Use the instructions on the same page under "Install and Activate an ICC Profile in order to add it to windows and select for it to be used.

As soon as you change the profile you should notice more vibrant colours.

There are also some recommended OSD calibrations which you might want to use, but personally I prefer higher brightness for my gaming so it's just a personal preference really.

    Hi Rebel230,

I got my x34 a week ago, at first with factory settings the Glow and backlight was a shock (never used IPS before).

Originally I set mine to TFT settings but increased the RBG by about 25 on eack for better colours for me.

I also reduced the brightness to 31, the other thing I did was turn on adaptive contrast as I found this made the glow unnoticable in games like elite and alien isolation.

No dead pixels, overclock to 95Hz and no other issues
