Hi guys:

My Aspire 1430z-4677 netbook is losing time (it's 5 years old afterall). I think it likely needs a new CMOS battery. Is there a user guide for replacing the CMOS battery on this model? Thanks for helping.

    Hello,

May be you can access the Cmos battery without disassembly. See attachment.

Oh cool thanks. By looking at the picture, you mean the CMOS battery and the circuit is under the HDD? I have no problem open that bottom plate since I have done that to upgrade the memory to 8 GB and the HDD to SSD.

That would be great! But no.Smiley Happy

The Cmos battery is located at the end of the HDD/SSD and under the plastic bottom of the laptop (the indicated area by the red "circle"). The showed circuit is a part of the motherboard.

Oh boy...I removed all the screws of the bottom but can't find an easy way to remove the whole bottom plate. I can ply open half of it but then couldn't go further. I am afraid of breaking it. Is there a guidance somewhere? I have three other Acer laptops and removing the bottom of those is easy. Is there a special trick for the 1430Z?
