I see ACER Tablet forums for 500, 200, A100  etc but no idea where to post questions for my A1-840

 

Also, that ACER FORUM group has a totally different sign on/password regimen....WHY

    Hi A10,

     

    This is the official Acer Community, provided by Acer as a peer to peer support forum for Acer Customers to assist each other.

     

    Our Tablet Forums have only two sections, Windows tablets and Android tablets.  The Android board does not have any sub-topics and you can post about any Acer Android tablet model there.

     

    There are other forums on the internet which may use the term Acer as part of their title, but they are not associated with Acer in any way. One or more of these may have the subtopics you mentioned and a different sign-in process, but we cannot help with any questions you have about these third-party forums as they are operated by other entities.

    Thanks for the clarification, P3. I realize now that the OTHER Acer forums aren't "official" Acer so I'll try finding an answer for my question, here.

    Q. My year old Acer Iconia 8 Tab. A1-840, has started to behave oddly when it comes to charging.

    When new,the mini USB cord failed about day 3, the micro end pulled out of its housing and broke off. It had been very difficult to push IN/connect.  Since then, I've been using a similar cord with the Acer provided adapter. It worked fine for many months.

     Lately, over the last month or so, the unit has taken to not charge, even when plugged in over nite.  Charge eg 44% is often the same after being plugged in for up to 8 hours and the CHARGE lightning bolt icon is not displayed.

    It won't charge whether ON or OFF. It did this last nite..no charge, and most of today..no charge. Finally, after I had plugged the cord into the tab 3-4X, it began to work and charge at 4pm, while "on", and built up from 43% to FULL over a period of an hour or so.

     

    Any ideas as to why this is happening appreciated
