My 2008 aspire, laptop with duo processors, running Windows vista -there is no sound coming out of Windows media player, when i play anything, like CD, DVD, LEXAR STICK with movies on it, or any messages from magic jack on email, i can not hear the voice, but the player is playing, because i see the line moving at the bottom of the player window, and there are kaleidoscope colors on the sceen when i play any of these devices.  i have gone in services on PC and gone through all devices i could think of and everything is up to date (all drivers that run on my PC.)  Is there any one having this problem, i did have a problem with my phone connected to magic jack for a while, but i can make calls out and calls are coming in, i had to set default on handset. so do i have to change the  default on sound when i use these devices?

    Hi,

Check the system volume, If it is set to the maximum, reinstall drivers. Go to device manager from the control panel, Click on "Sound Video and Game controllers" and uninstall the Realtek High definition audio driver. Please DONOT check on the delete driver box, then restart the computer. This should resolve the problem.

Incase if it doesn't work, do a complete recovery for the computer using the recovery managemet. follow the instructions here http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12869/kw/restore. Even after doing the recovery if you are experiencing the same problem, it must be DAMAGED SPEAKERS and consider sending the computer for service to get it fixed.

    Thak you Smiley Happy
