Hello, I have an Aspire ASE 380-UD421A that had been have problems for awhile and was stripped of its HDD and Memory and left for dead when I got it. The main complaint was the system kept randomly shutting down after being left on 24/7.

Bought new HDD and memory and reloaded software. System had seemed to be running fine for quite awhile, but recently has started to show similar signs of the previous problem of suddenly shutting down and restarting.

I suspect a possible MBD problem. The system is now doing memory dumps to disk after crashing and giving error codes saying that there is a hardware problem. Duh. Anyway, I ran the memory test but have not seen the results and not sure where they are.

Just would like to hear if anyone else has had similar problems and have resolved it.

Thanks.

    Hi there,

Memory dump errors or STOP errors can be caused due to overclocking, dust build up, underpowered PC, and overheating. But the most common cause is registry errors which are caused due to software changes.  Try reinstalling the operating system using the Acer recovery software and this will resolve the issue Smiley Happy
