Acer V3 112P C828 prompt came up to update touchpad. I clicked ok, now touchpad&kybd not functi

Laptop was not used for about 9 months.  Upon turning it on, a little green window popped up in the lower right stating to update the touchpad.  Now the touchpad and keyboard do not work.  Also upon shutting down the computer, windows update of 71 updates cannot complete.  It then goes to uninstalling the updates.  When the computer finally turns on I can use the touchscreen to move around.  Help! - Thomas
