Aspire E5-521-625B updating after move to Windows 10

Good morning - first post here...

Laptop came with Win8.1 and I followed the prompts to in-place upgrade to Win10. Seemed to go well.

On checking the Acer site for driver, etc. updates I notice there's a BIOS update available (v1.04).

Is it recommended to install this update - any risks involved? What does it do? Is it essential for Windows 10?

I notice there are several driver updates available. In some cases there are duplicates, i.e. Wireless LAN drivers from both Atheros and Broadcom - different versions, different sizes, different release dates - do I install both?

For 'Bluetooth' there are four drivers, two from Atheros, two from Broadcom - do I download them all?

Confused...

Also, my touchpad seems to have lost it's gestures - pinch, scroll etc. anything I can to to rectify this?

When plugged in and charging the battery icon also shows '01 minutes to full' no matter what percentage charge I have. Is this a known bug?

Apologies for all the question.

Thanks,

Jeff

Incidentally, the BIOS update seems to have corrected the touchpad and battery issues too.

. Fix LCD panel with "noise" in picture. 2. Update BIOS code for Win10 OS

since BIOS descriptions on point 2 said that...yes it's mandatory that you update it.

about bluetooth and wifi drivers, you need to check first on Device manager which model you have installed.

    windows logo key + x

    device manager

check under Network adapter for wifi

update other drivers too and i suggest you to install Acer quick manager too:

    Thank you.

    How to update the BIOS:
    Click "Z5WAE104.exe" under Winodows mode

    Release Note:
    1. Fix LCD panel with "noise" in picture.
    2. Update BIOS code for Win10 OS

And it really is as simple as this to update the BIOS - extract the files and run the exe file?

Just checking - I've never done it before.

    Thank you Ironfly.

Any comments on the other points I raised regarding drivers? Which ones to install. etc. and in which order?

    and the touchpad issue?

    Thanks.
