Unique issues with X34 Dec 2015 build

Hi, I have compared my monitor with the other OCN members and am overall happy however have a couple of issues that I have not seen others encounter.

Firstly my OSD menu is different, different wording to the ones I see in reviews and different text color.

That does not really bother me but makes it hard to calibrate because of the color issues I am having.

Despite numerous reviews claiming very good color reproduction out of the box and despite me trying my best to calibrate it, the color reproduction is noticeably flawed.

It can be seen here: http://cdn.overclock.net/a/a7/a77e5ed6_wtfcolors.jpeg

That same page had near perfect color reproduction on my old screen so I know it is not an issue with my actual computer, it is the Display driver or the monitor itself.

The box on my monitor says sRGB however I have crushed blue level as shown in the pic and I do not see a sRGB mentioned in the menu.

Settings and such are:

Chrome 48.0.2564.116 m

Windows 7 64bit

Geforce 980ti using Displayport cable that came with the monitor

OSD menu:

User

OD normal

Overclock 100Hz

Native resolution

50 contrast 30-50 brightness

2.5Gamma (there is no 2.4!)

the problem happens with every setting I have tried and is excaserbated by the gamma setting.

Another odd issue is on this page: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gamma_calibration.php

It shows a trend that the brighter the color the more off the Gamma. For example

48% blends at 1.3

10% blends at 1.8

An update. I have solved the problem which seems to be with Nvidia and not Acer.

I did an uninstall and DDU clean, with a reinstall of the latest drivers released either today or yesterday.

I chose clean installation. This still did not fix things.

So I went to another problem I forgot to mention which was that my black level only starts at about 10 and changing from full to limited makes no difference since using the X34. So I found a patch from a long time ago that solves problems with non PC resolutions even though the X34s resolutions are listed as PC in NVCP.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/2p3xs7/nvidia_users_using_hdmi_output_youre_most_likely/

I used the patch and rebooted and discovered that selecting Limited gives me full range now however Full still only gives me limited.

I believe this is a compatability issue, another clue is my monitor in control panel is listed as generic with a driver from 2006: http://i.imgur.com/ikIJ928.jpg

With the RGB range set to limited (actually full) the color balance is very much improved! pretty much perfect but only when set to RGB Limited.

I hope we can get some display drivers for this monitor to solve this issue which I am guessing is limited to the Dec 2015 builds.

    Hi MaFiOsO,

Thank for the feedback. I'm filtering this to the appropriate people.

As far as monitor drivers go, I understand the desire, but I don't feel they will provide any relief. There is not a real "driver" for interfacing with Windows and a Monitor that is needed. A monitor driver will only provide the name of the device and supported resolutions which make it a bit cleaner when picking a resolution in display settings.
