Acer Liquid E700 not able to factory reset

Whenever I try to factory reset my Acer Liquid E700, it just restarts normally without any alteration.

I've tried looking it up online, but haven't gotten an answer as of yet.

If someone is able to help, please do!

how are you trying to factory reset?

android system option or recovery factory reset?

I have tried both through the settings, and the button combination.
Both of them with the same result.

in very early android years i remember a similar issue but only trying to factory reset from android settings.

about factory reset from recovery, sorry to ask again; you entered recovery, chose wipe data/factory reset and the phone only rebooted?

or gave you any log about it? (written text during factory reset)

No, maybe I could have been more clear on that one.

Whenever I enter recovery mode, the phone just boots up normally, without ever showing any other options.

    The dead Android kever appears.

I have installed some app some time ago that alters the boot animation, maybe that is of some use.

I downloaded this app when I wasn't at my full senses so don't judge me for downloading such a stupid app.

The forementioned app was called Boot Animations (star emoticon) Root.

I disabled the boot animation that was still installed and uninstalled the app, but no change only the default ACER logo boot screen.

try to enter recovery mode only doing a long power button + volume down pressure, until the recovery menu appears.
