If I run my  XR341CK  at 75 hz video will be choppy in games and on the desktop. If I lower it to 60 its completely smooth. It doesnt matter what fps I am getting. It can be over 100 or locked at 75, its still choppy. I am running a GTX 970 strix. I have tried several nvidia drivers. I installed the windows drivers for the monitor from the acer site. I have tried 2 cables but they are just the stock one that came with the XR34 and another that came with a samsung, Perhaps I should try a better cable? I also tried another gfx card. Same issue. Any ideas?

thanks

a few things to check. in your device manager, under monitor, do you see the acer. or do you see generic pnp? also, when you go to the nvidia control panel, what does it show for the resolution and refresh rate? and lastly, in your games do you have the resolution and refresh rate set correctly? if all these things look good it might be the nvidia card having issues with the freesync monitor. if you google it you will see there are reported issues with nvidia cards with this monitor.

Yeah it says acer xr341ck in device manager and the proper resolution and hz are set in the nvidia console and in

game. I was wondering if maybe nvidia cards have issues with freesync monitors but I had read reviews of people using the same card with no issue. I am debating selling my card, getting a radeon and keeping this monitor or just returning this one and getting an X34 predator. I really love the display on these things. I am hesitant thought due to all the problems I see in the forum and in reviews. Another thing, my xr34 has some bad baklight bleed. Is it worth trying to get one that doesnt have much or should I just stick with it since it has no issues besides incompatability with my nvidia card. Thanks for the reply.

is it possible to try the monitor on another pc? also understand, if your coming from a smaller monitor your pushing alot more pixerls. you may need to adjust your settings in the nvidia control panel or try lowering your in game settings to see if you can get smooth game play.  i have both the xr341ck and x34 and don't have issues with nvidia cards. also  when it comes to backlight bleed, my feeling is that if it's noticable while playing games, replace it. if you don't notice it but the monitor works well otherwise, keep it. to some extent backlight bleed seems to be a part of all these ips 34" ultrawide displays.
