XG270HU Firmware Update? 15 05 06 -01

I just bought the XG270HU for ~$500 and was dissappointed when i realized my r9 280 didn't support Freesync. So a few days ago i ordered a new r9 390 for ~$300. Now im reading that theres an issue with the firmware that needs to be updated to be able to run Freesync + OD. Now i've got to spend ~$100 to ship it to asia for a simple firmware update?

What fimware version is the fix applied to? By turnning off my monitor, holding the empowering button and the power button, waiting until desktop appears, releasing power and then releasing the empowering button and pushing the empowering button once more, I am able to tell that my monitors firmware version is 15 05 06 -01. I'm assuming that is also the date the firmware was released. I read the updated firmware was released sometime near july?

Can somebody tell me what firmware version has the update?

You guys are fine as far as having the correct firmware, had mine updated recently and now I have the same version as you.  Using blur busters ufo test I verified the overdrive is now working, without having lightboost or some sort of backlight strobing feature the blur is never going to disappear completely.  However strobing techniques add a measurable amount of input lag so honestly I'll take the 1-4ms of pixel response time over that.

I'm in the exact same situation.  I have a r9 390 and have the same firmware version as you.  I'm experiencing a little ghosting/motion blur when scrolling and gaming.

Well I just looked at the box my monitor came in, says it was made in china April 2015... I'm HOPING that means my monitor has the firmware. What's strange is, right now i do not have a freesync supported video card and I am seeing ghosting using the PixPerAn testing software... I am using display port to reach 144hz as none of the other ports on my 280 support it. I do not see any difference from changing the OD setting from off normal or extreme, the ghosting stays the same. My Video card comes tuesday and ill be testing freesync + OD on displayport vs OD on dvi-D. I only notice the ghosting in the PixPerAn software, I cant say that i notice any ghosting in game. But maybe it's because i don't know any better.

Chris, try using DVI-D and OD and see if that removes the ghosting. Freesync won't work over DVI-D but OD should.

I'm guessing Acer rep's dont work on the weekends. Hopefully we get an answer monday.

Thanks for confirming that, i figured as much. Still a sigh of relief. Yea this monitor doesn't have any blur reduction, but it didn't advertise any either so i didn't expect it to. I ONLY see ghosting using this PixelPerAn software... I don't see any on blurbusters or notice it in any games or anything... I'm still waiting for my 390 so i havn't been able to test freesync + OD, would have been pretty upset to find out i needed a firmware update. Good to know my monitors firmware is as good as it's going to get.
