I was on my phone and it wasnt plugged in but had full charge. The screen then went black even though I hadnt pressed the lock button or anything. I pressed the lock button to view my screen again but it wouldnt come back on so I pressed it again and it flashed my lock screen for a second before turning back off. Even when someone calls me, my screen will flash on for a second and then go back to being black. I have tried to power off but it wont allow me to as I cant access the screen. I have restarted it using the lock button and the volume button but it hasn't made any difference at all. It charges fine and when i plug it into my laptop i can still transfer files between the two devices, my screen just wont turn on and I cant access any applications or texts or do anything on my phone.

i suspect an hardware failure, so id you are still under warranty, contact Acer support service, if not...you can't do pretty much.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Are you sure you successfully restarted?

have you seen the Acer boot logo?

normally to force shutdown, you just need to do a long press on power button.

since my initial question I have successfully turned the device off. I then left it turned off at home for a few hours whilst I went out and then I have just turned it back on but there is no difference and the screen still on't come on.

I am certain that I successfully restarted it as the booting logo flashed up on screen. Even during the restarting process the screen flashed the logo on for a second and went back to being black.
