Interrupting disk interrogation - acer lappy

Hi all. My laptop has decided to investigate the hard disk each time it is switched on. It gives me 1 sec to press a button and so bypass this operation. the disk investigation operation takes 5 hours to ensue (but 1minute for 75% complete!). I did not set this up, and my little dollytots are not always quick enough to stop the op.

Any ideas as to how I do get rid of this nuisance? Else, it has been a brill machine all-in-all

if factory reset didn't fix it, probably is a problem on HDD/SSD, so backup all your personal data and if it's under warranty contact Acer support service.

Acer 10 lappy and Windows DOS

The little mesky-moo decided to start asking me each time my dollytots started up to 'press any key within 1 secs if wishing to skip disk operation' sometimes i do it in time, another i cannot press fast enough. never set this up, done a factory reset, nothing changing....merely an annoyance, does not affect performance of the lap when my dollytots are sitting there playing with it and tapping away cheerfully. Just an annoyance.

Looking to sell machine on, now i have a tabby...it is enough for me and my work as a reviewer of books and papers.

(latest review is a book called Packskull if any are interested - available for 90 days from the amazon platform)

    Any help appreciated.....................................Robot Embarassed

It did not work. system says that I must install some administration software to complete, cannot see where I gets this little minky-mouser from.

Just need to pass the device over to another, and need to remove certain info gleaned from a web search using code-search strings.

Any aid appreciated...is good little gizmo otherwise

try Alt+F10 at boot if recovery still works, it will re-install windows OS.
