got 'swift' app onscreen. keeps asking for permissions to access my machines details and storage. do not know if i should allow this, as i will be online.

what are permissions, and do they corrupt anything? ('swift' keeps asking the user for allowance to access, and once clicked on never stops at all!)

advice appreciated

i don't think so, probably they need that hardware information to collect bugs or issues or check which kind of hardware is more or less used on smartphones.

newly installed apps always ask about permissions, it's a google android enforcement; to let users understand which kind of information an application will access.

    machine details = hardware informations

storage = need to write/read files from storage

    nothing so "strange".

Thanks again Ironfly. Will anyone be able to access private stuff using the 'swift' app? Does the app search all the time, even say when I is reading a book and do not want popups?
