Why is H236Hl hdmi screen the same as VGA?

I could not find a Discussion Board for Acer Monitor  H326HL that I bought at Best Buy last year, so hopefully someone can direct this properly.

In Best Buy, the screen picture was similar to an iPad,  crisp and clean.

I use it with my Lenovo laptop Windows 7 64 bit and the HDMI cable

The picture has Never been even close to what was in the store,  it is just the same as my 5 yr old Samsung.

Now that I have an iPad, I would like to have my HD236Hl with a similar screen

Suggestions appreciated

What resolution and refresh rate are you using?

Resolution is 1920x1080(recommended); 60 hertz; true color 32 bit;  display is set to only display on the external monitor.

    thank you

Can you provide the first 10 characters of your serial number so I can verify exactly what model monitor you are using and what hardware is in it?

I show this model should be able to provide an image at 1080p. Do you have another computer or device like a PS3 that you can connect to it to see if it provides a better image quality?

At this point, my best suggestion would be to try to locate another system to test it on, or to create a repair order which would allow you to send it in for us to test and repair it if we find issues.
