Sound randomly cuts out when connected to TV with HDMI
Hi, I have an Acer Aspire E13 which is connected to my Phillips TV through HDMI. For some reason the sound keeps randomly cutting out, just for a few seconds at a time, when watching TV/Video from my laptop.
Can anyone help me solve this please?

first thing to try is to re-install or update your VGA drivers:
they handle audio on HDMI too, it will be better if you can install a no customized Acer VGA drivers, since it's a little bit outdated.
you can download the Intel tool that will help you find the correct VGA driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Update-Utility
just remember to uninstall Acer drivers first and then install the Intel, to do this.
enter Device manager
click on Display adatper
right click your Intel VGA adapter and choose to uninstall and tick to uninstall software too when asked.
reboot and install the Intel driver

Thanks for the help but it didn't work. I uninstalled the old drivers and used the driver update tool to install the new ones. But souls still drops out.0

Videos are on the laptop HDD?
Sound on laptop speakers is ok?
Have you tried connecting to another TV?

Sorry been away for a few days.
Ok, happens with all video, streaming, stored on laptop, YouTube etc. I have since tried a different TV and that seemed to be ok. Sound via speakers is also ok. Just happens when I connect via HDMI to my Panasonic TV.0 -
Does your panasonic have another HDMI port?
my old G has 3 HDMI ports, try to connect to another HDMI port if possible.

Yeah, it had 2. Tried both, different cables etc. I have a non acer laptop so was going to give that a try to see if it's just the combination of acer drivers and Panasonic. But I've had Apple TV, Google tv etc all used with the Panasonic TV with no problems. If memory serves I've also had other devices connected to it via hdmi without issue.
So I'm a bit stuck lol.0 -
hmmm interesting but at the moment i'm out of ideas.
