I have just bought an Acer Iconia Tab8W 810. I set it up withthe programmes and apps I needed and then tried to recalibrate the screen for use with a touch screen pen. Now I have a screen with instructions to tap crosshairs but does not respond to finger touch or pen. I cannot get out of the screen and do not want to do a hard reset. Any ideas?

I do not know what screen you are in but

1 ) if you have a tray on the bottom of the screen then a right click on the program's (are you in the UK ?) should give you "exit program".

2 ) With keyboard commected hit ctrl-alt-del and you should get an option for "Task Manager" whch would allow you to close the app.

3 ) Ctrl-Alt-Del also has the option to "Switch User", that should close all programs.

4 ) Long hold on the power button should shut it down

5 ) If all of this fails, then use the reset button.

Note: 1-3 shuld not affect ongoing downloads. 4-5 may.

Thanks. That was very helpful. All sorted not now and will keep your instructions in case it happens again although I will not try and recalibrate another time!
