Unable to boot to BIOS

I have a major issue with my Acer AME-600-UR378. When booting up, the monitor does not detect any signal so I am unable to access bios or windows. I have tried reseting the CMOS by removing the battery and jumping the CMOS pins. I believe this might be a motherboard/BIOS issue since the mouse won't light up when pressing the power button and the keyboard's numlock light will not turn off/on when pressing the toggle switch. The case light does power on and fans do run until I hold the power button. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi trickbiker121

It does sound like a motherboard problem.

The only other thing you can try is check that all internal cables are connected securely and that the RAM is sitting in their slots properly. If you have 2 (or more) sticks, try removing one, then try to boot. If that still doesn't work, swap them around.

Before you call it bad MB/Cmos, I would if you have an extra PSU (Power Supply) around try and see if that can bring it to life... I have seen at times that a PSU can go bad just enough to make things look like it isn't working right... Once a Good PSU is Installed life returend... That isn't 100% of the time. Just another idea to try before calling it.

Everything else seems to have been covered..

Hope something works out. I don't have one but That is a system I have always liked when I heard about it. I would hate to see one go down without a fight...

Edit: I do see a MB on the Bay. Worse comes to worse... They don't seem Cheap...

Thank you for your replies I have 3 ram sticks and tried to boot them with individual sticks in different slots with the same outcome. I have an upgraded PSU to help power my grpahics card. I did remove the graphics card and replaced the upgraded PSU with the original with same result. Your right that the Motherboards don't come cheap don't know if I should buy another branded motherboard that usesd LGA 1155 socket. Thanks again for the replies.

I do want to say, Also before you rule out the MB, I would try your CPU in a different MB that you know works and you know works with your CPU. Reason I say that is even though a MB may accept a 1155 CPU it may not accept one of your Wattage or Specs....

It could be and hate to say it but it could be that the CPU is bad... Some people feel they go out more often then the MB and in some cases that is true. But there are laods of Reasons that a MB can go bad...

I just don't want you to buy a Different MB and find out that the CPU didn't work in it. Then find out the CPU was what was bad....

Thanks for looking out but I do not have any Mobo's that take 1155 CPU to test with. I tried to find some MB that do take 1155 online but they are either sold out or very old. If I do plan on buying a MB I will most likly go with another brand like ASRock since they are way cheaper than any OEM MB on Ebay or scrap the parts from this computer and build another one. Ebay does have some good used ones but before I do anything i ordered a new stick of RAM to test. Maybe all three RAM's died together? Also I see that Acer does provide out of warrenty service, any one try it and how does it work exactly? Thanks.

Something to think about with your NEW MB. Windows 8 that came with your system and in your hdd would not work for a NON OEM MB without a new product key...

When your computer was bought it came with Win8 I think and they started 8 where the Key is in the Bios! That way others couldn't take your key.

So if you don't have a Retail OS for your new computer MB you may want to add that into your budget for a new MB... May even find a New Acer computer could be the way to go..

Also your sytem has loads of USB 2 and 3 Ports...

So I just wanted to update this post. The motherboard still didn't work with the new ram. So I bought an new motherboard Intel DZ77GAL-70K since it was the only new motherboard I could find on a reputable site. Placing the CPU and ram from the old Acer MB to the Intel MB worked without any issue. Now I just need to buy a new case since the new MB is ATX. I do want to point out that after I left the computer alone for few days and inserted a usb with the bios .CAP on root I was able to get it to POST and show a message stating to insert a bootable drive and press any key to restart but the keyboard was not working so my only option was to hold the power button but after I did that it stopped POSTing.

Sorry to hear that it was the MB. Hope you found a MB that will carry on your needs. Sorry there wasn't any way to get the Acer back to life. Seems like you did all that you could to try and make it a go.

There are some not to costly Cases out there. I would just look over the Board and try and find a case that will maximize the ability of the MB. IN the end only thing matters is that it suits your needs...

Thank you for addming what you ended up having to do. Keeps others with an idea of steps they may need to take.
